My Paris Walks

NEW!

Will you be in Paris this Coming October?

Crime, History and Chocolate
with Leonard Pitt and Cara Black

Date: Thursday, October 22, 2015, 10am, rain or shine. Comfortable shoes recommended.

Join Leonard Pitt and Cara Black on a Paris walk that combines fact, fiction, crime, history and chocolate. Follow Cara Black’s Parisian detective Aimée Leduc in her investigations of the Palais Royal and the Comédie Francaise (featured in Murder in the Palais Royal). With Leonard you’ll uncover the real history of Paris lying beneath the cobblestones with maps, photos and stories that illuminate the life of the city in its transformation.

You’ll explore one of Paris’s architectural gems, the Palais Royal, to see the spot where the French Revolution was ignited, where Napoleon courted Josephine, and discover the origins of the famed covered passageways and arcades full of history and where Aimée chases down clues.

We’ll visit the shop where you can find the perfect vintage little Black dress. On the grounds of the Louvre we’ll discover the birth of early Paris and see how the city was shaped by emotional trauma.

We’ll walk by the ‘sex club’ echangiste across from Moliere’s fountain which Aimée visits and was a favored haunt of Dominique Straus Kahn.

No walk would be complete without artisanal French chocolate and a chocolate tasting in a charming local cafe.

Leonard Pitt has written three books about Paris. He’s the founder of the oldest chocolate tasting club in the US.

Cara Black has written fifteen books in the Aimée Leduc series each set in a different Paris arrondissement. She was awarded the Medaille de la Ville de Paris.
